Welcome to our page devoted to our Nubian dairy goats.  We selected Nubians for their rich,
sweet and creamy milk which is high in butterfat; and admittedly we just love those ears! We have
4B, Kastdemur, Kris'Kids, and Saada genetics in our herd. Our journey along the path to herd
improvement has been one of  education, sometimes hard-won, and we continue to learn. We owe
a great deal to other breeders of fine Nubians for sharing their advice, wisdom, and expertise.

Our goal is to breed big, elegant, correct Nubians with good dairy character; capacious,
well-attached udders; and the classic Nubian temperament.  While most goat breeders will admit
that there is no such thing as a perfect goat, we think we have the temperament part down
pat...our regal, bossy girls run the show.

Another trait we look for is the ability to efficiently utilize browse.  Our goats are pastured full time,
and we expect them to do well with little supplemental feeding.  Milking does receive a grain mix
with added sunflower seed. Salt blocks, block and loose minerals, and baking soda are available
free choice. Feed is adjusted as needed for growing kids, bucks in rut, etc., to maintain good
condition and weight gain.

We are working toward maintaining a closed herd. We will add new bucks as needed to improve
our lines; and would probably not turn down the chance to acquire an outstanding doe or two!
Doe kids are separated at birth whenever possible and hand raised;  bucklings may be left with the
does. Kids are disbudded at approximately 1 week of age.  We plan to begin yearly CAE testing in
the near future. Our goats receive CDT vaccinations and are treated for parasites based upon
FAMACHA guidelines.  We have found that having plenty of pasture and rotation is hugely helpful
in parasite management.

At the time this page is being constructed, we do not show our goats.  We have attended a
handful of shows and enjoyed meeting fellow breeders and learning from them. It is likely a matter
of time before our human kids decide they wish to enter some shows...so see you there!

This page and
much of our
site remain
under
construction...
please bear
with us while
we complete
the process!
Please enjoy a look at some of our bucks and does that we feel will figure
prominently in future breedings. We will add sales and breeding plan pages
in the future, and update these pictures as needed.
